Visit your favorite retailer or pre-order online to ensure you get an Xbox One X on November 7.
On August 25, Microsoft proclaimed that the Xbox One X was the fastest selling Xbox pre-order ever. Microsoft was referring to pre-orders of the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition, but without mentioning how many were made available for pre-order. Today, pre-orders are open again, only this time it's for the standard edition of the Xbox One X.
What you will be pre-ordering is the standard black Xbox One X with a 1TB hard drive and a single controller for $499.99. Expect delivery on launch day, November 7.
As the video above explains, opting for an Xbox One X does not limit your options in terms of games. A growing number of existing games are being updated and enhanced to take advantage of the extra One X performance. You also don't require a 4K TV to use it. Xbox One games will look best in 4K, but 1080p gamers will still benefit from the performance boost.
Microsoft is hoping for a great holiday season. Alongside the Xbox One X there will be over 130 new and existing enhanced games available to play. For the Xbox One S, there will also be four console bundles available including Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft, Shadow of War, and Madden NFL 18.
It will be interesting to see how consumers react to Microsoft's new line-up and inevitable huge marketing push. But also to watch how Sony responds as it tries to maintain its clear lead over Xbox this hardware generation.
