N Cape police arrest man at Nakop border post for possession of dagga

Police also confiscated a Toyota Run-X as it was allegedly used in the commission of crime.

Vigilant policing at the Nakop border post with Namibia led to a 28-year-old man being arrested for possession of dagga, Northern Cape police said on Sunday.

“The members of the SAPS [South African Police Service] border post in Nakop searched a Toyota Run-X and found the vehicle stashed with dagga to the approximate street value of R75,000,” Captain Sergio Kock said.

Police arrested the man and also confiscated the car as it was allegedly used in the commission of crime. The suspect would appear in the Upington Magistrate’s Court soon. The investigation was continuing, Kock said.
