Two days of power but only 8GB of storage
Does your phone's battery die too quickly? Are you sick of lugging around a power pack to top up your phone throughout the day? Well, HMD Global has announced the entry-level Nokia 2 phone which the Finnish company says will last for two days on a single charge off its massive 4,100 mAh battery. It also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 quad-core processor, a 5-inch 1280x720 LCD, an 8 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front camera, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage which is expandable to 128GB with a microSD card.
"Every component of the Nokia 2 — from the display to battery, chipset to system design — has been engineered to draw as little power as possible from the huge battery," said Juho Sarvikas, chief product officer at HMD Global.
The phone runs Android Nougat with Google Assistant built-in, and will be upgraded to Oreo sometime in the future, according to HMD. Best of all, perhaps, is the built-in headphone jack, so you won't need to fiddle around with extra dongles or worry about keeping a set of Bluetooth headphones charged.
The Nokia 2 comes in three colors; pewter/black, pewter/white, and copper/black, and will retail for around €99 globally. At the launch event today in India, HMD said the phone will be available from mid-November.
